Forty crews, in a variety of classic cars dating from 1934, will take the start of the 100th Anniversary Monte Carlo Classic Rally from John O’Groats on 29th January 2026.

Their route will take them almost 1,500 miles through the UK, the Netherlands and France until they arrive in Monte Carlo 6 days later.

100th Anniversary Monte Carlo Classic Rally

Taking part in the event will be Clydesdale Classic Cars’ customer Sandy McEwen from East Kilbride in his endurance rally-prepared 1940 Ford Fordor Deluxe V8.

Alan Stark, an experienced Glasgow-based co-driver, will be sharing driving and navigation duties with Sandy. The pair participated in and finished the 2018 Monte Carlo Historique Rally in a 1970 Porsche 914/6.

Sandy McEwen said:

“Having taken part in the Monte Carlo Rallye Historique in 2018 in the Porsche, driving the classic route from the UK in mid-winter through France, the Alps and into Monaco in a period car, remains a memorable experience. Taking part in the 100th Anniversary Monte Carlo Classic Rally in an 85-year-old classic car will be a different sort of challenge, which Alan and I are looking forward to”

Sandy and Alan will keep the team at Clydesdale Classic Cars updated on their progress during the rally, so watch here for further updates.

Best of luck to Sandy McEwen and co-driver Alan Stark as they take on the 100th Anniversary Monte Carlo Classic Rally in Sandy’s superb 1940 Ford Fordor Deluxe V8.

Having already completed the Monte Carlo Historique in 2018, Sandy and Alan know exactly what this challenge involves — but tackling the iconic route in an 85-year-old Ford is something truly special.

Everyone at Clydesdale Classic Cars wishes you a safe, successful and unforgettable rally. We’ll be following your progress closely and look forward to the updates along the way.
